 Major Activities

  Workshop and Conference
KAIE holds a workshop every spring to increase professional knowledge and skills of KAIE members and to
disseminate the most up-to-date information regarding international education.

  General Meeting
At the end of each year, a general meeting is held whereby KAIE members meet to review the achievements of
the past year as well as to provide an open forum where practical exchange can take place.  A topic of interest
is chosen for each general meeting and a small seminar or a workshop is held. Experts are brought in to speak
on the chosen topic. Annually over 200 KAIE members have taken advantage of those meetings to exchange
information and build their professional network.

  International Activities
KAIE has an agreement of cooperation with JAFSA(Japan Network for International Education) and its members
are dispatched every year to participate in each other¡¯s conference.  For the future, KAIE plans to expand such
exchanges to those organizations of international education in other nations. KAIE also plans to recruit
international members from other countries by offering international sessions at its annual conference.

Dispatching of KAIE Members to Training Programs Abroad
KAIE dispatches its members to the UNESCO International Education Administrator¡¯s Programmes, which is
implemented by the Association of International Education, Japan (AIEJ), in cooperation with KAIE, JAFSA,
    NAFSA, and EAIE

  KAIE Website

KAIE manages a website in order to supply the latest information to KAIE members and to enhance its members¡¯
professional knowledge.  The website contains all types of information related to international education as well
as contact information for KAIE members of educational institutions and other types of organizations involved in
international exchange affairs in the hopes of promoting international educational exchange and networking
    among KAIE members.

Participation in NAFSA: Association of International Educators
KAIE¡¯s President, staff, and members attend the NAFSA conference each year to promote the understanding of
Korea¡¯s culture and educational system to international educators from other nations.  The NAFSA conference is
usually hold in the United States and attracts more than 6,000 members from 80 different countries each year.  In
particular, KAIE regularly holds a session or a workshop at the NAFSA conference to increase foreign
international educators¡¯ understanding of Korea and Korean students.

Participation in EAIE: European Association of International Education
KAIE staff members attend the EAIE conference each year to gather up-to-date information on the European
international education market.  Europe is the second largest international education market next to the U.S.
Radical reforms are taking place in the European international educational market in face of aggressive
competition from U.S. educational institutions, providing a valuable lesson for Korean international educators.

Cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development
KAIE is working closely with the Department of International Education and Information in the Ministry of
Education and Human Resources Development to address problems and difficulties faced by its members in the
field of international education.  KAIE is also working in close cooperation with the Ministry of Justice to simplify
the issuing process of entry visas to make it easier for foreign students to enter and study in Korea.  Furthermore,     KAIE is in the process of implementing a training program for the members, who lack experience and knowledge
    in the field.

Consulting with Foreign Delegations and Representatives Working in the Field of International
   Education
Hosted by the Korean-American Education Commission every year, representatives from the United States who
have been selected for the International Education Administrators¡¯ Exhibition come to Korea to understand its
culture and educational system.  KAIE provides these delegates with information on international education in
Korea and gives them access to its extensive network allowing many international programs to come to fruition.
KAIE also plays a role as a bridge for foreign delegates interested in forming partnerships with Korean higher
    education institutions.

  Participation in International Education Exhibitions

KAIE annually participates in International educational exhibitions abroad held by the National Institute for
International Educational Development for various programs.  KAIE also organizes recruiting fairs overseas for
the recruitment of international students interested in Master¡¯s or Doctoral programs. KAIE will actively work with
